Because my inspirational video
From
Service dog to SURFice dog went viral on YouTube with more than 3.2
million views, I wanted to use my new found prominence to help others.
So, I created this page to help rescues. This page is meant as a resource for dog rescues, and
people interested in dog rescue organizations. For more information on
each group, please click the links below. If you would like your site
added, please send me an
email with the following...
Organization name: Website URL: Facebook URL: Twitter URL: if applicable YouTube URL: if applicable Breed: About/Mission: What your organization does, or it's mission.
Although I don't do rescue
myself, I started a
Facebook page called "Ricochet's Animal Rescue & Resource Page" for rescues to use as a resource, so please join that page
to post your info, and network with others. Every Wednesday, I do a
shout out on my original
Facebook page page of 22,200+ fans to raise awareness of the
organizations listed here, in an effort to get my fans to repost to their
pages to raise even more awareness. If you haven't joined my page(s)
yet, please do. Scroll down to see the rescues who need our help
raising awareness. Thanks for your support and ultimately saving
animal lives.

Committee. Chairman Grendell holds the key to NITRO'S LAW. Nitro's Law HB70
passed the House of Representatives Feb. 2010 and was sent to the Senate for
consideration. The bill has been sitting there since then.
On October 22, 2008 an elite dog training & boarding facility 'High Caliber
K-9' in Youngstown, Ohio was raided. Steve Croley owner & trainer of High
Caliber was arrested, charged, convicted on just a misdemeanor infraction
for starving 19 dogs, 8 of which died. NITRO'S LAW is a legacy and testament
in honor of a family's Rottweiler that was starved to death at this man's
hands. Ohio House Bill 70 "NITRO'S LAW passed the house but has been shelved

THE
PATRICK MIRACLE Website:
http://patrickatgsvs.shutterfly.com/ and
http://www.gsvs.org/news/patrick.asp Facebook:
http://www.gsvs.org/news/patrick.asp
About/Mission: Patrick was thrown down the garbage chute of a 22
story apartment building. He was starved and near death. A maintenance
worker was cleaning the contents of the container that goes to a trash
compacter. The bag moved a little and the worker opened it to find a
moribund dog inside -- pathetically thin, cold and near death. The City of
Newark Animal Control was contacted and ACO Arthur Skinner picked up the dog
and brought him directly to the Society. The veterinary staff immediately
put him on intravenous fluid. His temperature was so low that it did not
even register on the thermomenter. After a brief time at the Society's
Newark facility, he was ambulanced to Garden State Veterinary Specialists in
Tinton Falls -- a referral hospital with 24 hour emergency care. If he died
during that night, we feel he would know that everyone loved and cared about
him and treated him gently and lovingly. He amazed everyone at the Society
and at Garden State by surviving with the 24 hour emergency care that they
rendered. He was given a blood transfusion, a bath -- and even a walk! In
honor of the first day of his re-birth, we call him Patrick -- in honor of
St. Patrick's Day and we hope he has the luck of the Irish!
ADOPTION OPTION Facebook:
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Adoption-Option/158949824170867 About/Mission:To rescue the
lives of death row animals in high kill shelters and place them in qualified
loving forever homes. We believe firmly that every animals’ life matters,
and that we need to do right by the animals that others have forgotten.
While we will pull any death row animal that we are able to, we have an
emphasis on working with gassing shelters that other rescues do not pull
from. We do our best to rescue pit bulls, seniors, abuse cases, neonate
puppies and kittens, special needs animals and other cases that, while just
as deserving, don't find placement as easily and often need special care.

About/Mission: My name is Bow, I'm a 1 year old mutt from New
Zealand. Here in NZ there is a charity called adopt-a-dog hawkes bay.
These guys go to our local pound and rescue lovely natured dogs and place
them into foster homes. These dogs are cared for, any health problems are
treated, and they are desexed and vaccinated. The fosterers look after
these beautiful dogs until forever homes are found. Sadly the pound will
only keep a dog for a short time, after which if it is not claimed, it is
euthanised. Adopt-a-dog is saving the lives of these lucky dogs!
I'm raising money for
adopt-a-dog by creating paintings with my big feet. My brother Tala helps
me sometimes too. My brother and I were both rescue puppies, so we know
about being sad and alone, and just want to give a little back. Come and
see my page - check out our previous works. We have an auction up every
week at
www.trademe.co.nz, but we also do personalised paintings for anyone
that wants certain colours. Thanks for your support! Woof woof!
CAMP COCKER Website:
www.campcocker.com Facebook:
http://www.facebook.com/campcocker Breed: Cocker Spaniel About/Mission:Our primary mission is to
rescue dogs from high kill shelters in the Los Angeles region. There are
more than thirty high kill shelters that are within a 125 mile radius of Los
Angeles County. The amount of dogs in shelters are overwhelming. On any
given day there can be between two and seven cockers PER shelter! We have a
"worry
list" that can have up to sixty cockers on it. These are the dogs in
immediate danger of being put to sleep.
We can't save them all, we can't even save ten percent of them. But
instead of giving up, we are determined to save whom we can, one dog at a
time. Because the shelter dogs are at most risk, we rarely accept owner
relinquishments.
If you have a cocker spaniel that you are trying to relinquish, we
may only be able to consider taking in your dog if you can make a donation
towards their boarding and medical expenses. Please know that by accepting
your dog, it will mean that the life of a shelter dog is not going to be
saved.
Our rehoming process is rather selective as our aim is not just to
adopt the dogs out as quickly as possible, but rather to adopt the dogs out
to the home that is most right for that specific dog. A home that is most
likely to be able to make a life long commitment to that dog (that could be
up to a fifteen year commitment). Our adoption process is quite lengthy,
however it helps to screen out the adopters whom perhaps may be looking for
a dog on an impulse and have not quite planned to make such a long term
commitment. Those adopters whom are ready, are committed and have thought it
all through carefully, those are the ones that end up filling out an
adoption application and moving forward with adopting a dog from Camp
Cocker.

charitable organization in Jacksonville, FL dedicated to giving older and
senior dogs a second, sometimes third, chance at a new life. At so many
shelters, the age of a dog can determine its chances of reaching the
adoption floor to find a new forever home. As a result, many wonderful
dogs are denied the ability to live out their lives with dignity,
surrounded by love. The Old Dog House aims to enlighten the public to the
joys of owning an older or senior dog through educational programs and to
place rescued dogs into true forever homes through adoption programs. The
dogs that come into the care of The Old Dog House will remain in our care

special needs. It is funded by monthly, tax deductible charitable
donations. Shamrock Circle Fund helps to fund extraordinary medical and
emergency expenses, such as medical tests, surgeries, long term care for
the elderly and unexpected events.
1. Shelter & Emergency Medical Assistance.
This program asissts rural shelters with supplies and donations and
through The Phoenix Fund, helps rescue groups handle medical bills for
animals that have suffered extreme abuse or neglect.
Many rural shelters are
too small to accommodate the growing number of animals entering their
facilities each year. Most of these shelters lack proper protection
from the elements, utilizing outdoor runs and buildings without
heating and/or air. UDF seeks to assist these shelters through
food/supply drives as well as monetary donations.
The Phoenix Fund is named
for a courageous pup that was brought to a small shelter with severe
mange, eye, ear and skin infections. This fund supplies grants to
rescue groups to provide emergency medical care for dogs with medical
issues caused by abuse or neglect.
2. Military Mutts - the
goal of the Military Mutts program is to provide assistance to
deploying military personnel in caring for their pets while deployed
(through transport to a family member, fostering or re-homing);
provide food and supplies to military pet owners facing financial
difficulties; and placing companion animals with military families.
