Thank you for being a Guardian Angel to the community of Newtown, CT. 700 guardian angel bears were sent to Sandy Hook Elementary school so each child received one. The teachers, staff & families who lost a loved one also received a bear. In addition, a check was sent to the community to help fund counseling, scholarship & memorial funds, and whatever else they need.

I wanted to do something to lend a paw to the community of Newtown, CT during their time of grief and recovery.

So, I started the Guardian Angel fundraiser to provide all 700 kids from Sandy Hook Elementary School their own personal guardian angel bear to help them feel safer. They can take this guardian angel with them wherever they go, holding it close for comfort. Guardian angel bears will also go to the families of the children & teachers who lost their lives.

Each bear cost $5 wholesale from First and Main.

All funds received over the $3500 that the bears cost, will be donated to the Newtown community to help fund counseling, scholarship & memorial funds, and whatever else they need. A special card was also included with the bears that has every donor's name on it, so the community knows each of YOU guardian angels that came together for this project.

My new FURiends at K-9 Parish Comfort Dogs who have traveled from Chicago to CT to offer comfort to the community handed out the Guardian Angel bears on our behalf when the children returned to school after the holidays. Your Guardian Angel bear was sealed with a lick!

I know the kids will feel comforted by our small token of compassion. Thank you so much!
