PREVIOUS SURF-A-THONS
On September 12, 2010, I surfed in the Helen
Woodward Animal Center's Surf Dog Surf-a-thon. This event was held to
raise funds and awareness for orphaned animals, while promoting responsible
pet ownership. With the help of my donors, I raised $3085!!
I was the highest fundraiser for the event, and in fact the highest
fundraiser from all five years they've been having the surf-a-thon! Thank
you for your support!!
Thank you for making a
donation! Together, we helped the orphaned animals!

FLOWER PAW'ER!
I wore a flower lei on the day of the surf contest, with flowers
representing
the
paw'er we have to save lives by helping animals find forever homes!
Each flower represented a donation made to honor adopted pets.
The number of
flowers equaled the same number of lives that have been saved! Thank you
for being part of my flower paw'er
campaign!!

Helen Woodward Animal Center is a unique, private, non-profit organization
dedicated to saving the lives of animals and enriching the lives of people.
For more than 30 years, our no-kill Center has provided humane care and
adoption for orphaned animals, as well as animal-centered educational and
therapeutic programs for people. The Center is a dynamic, evolving
institution that is an agent of change for the animal welfare world.
Some of the
programs Helen Woodward Animal Center offers include the following:
Education
To provide a variety of unique learning opportunities which support
the bond between humans and animals by nurturing knowledge, compassion, and
respect toward all living things.
Animeals
Our popular AniMeals program offers free pet food for the dogs and
cats of elderly or disabled people throughout San Diego County. AniMeals
helps keep people and their companion pets together by removing logistical
and financial obstacles to ensure that clients will always be able to
provide nutritious meals for their beloved pets
Pet
Encounter Therapy
The Pet Encounter Therapy (P.E.T.) program brings the unconditional
love and tactile benefits of animals to people in facilities such as abused
children's shelters, hospitals, psychiatric facilities, and senior centers
Equine
Hospital
The Equine Hospital at the Helen Woodward Animal Center is equipped
to perform a wide variety of medical procedures and services
Therapeutic Riding
The Center's Therapeutic Riding program benefits children and adults
who have a variety of special needs relating to cerebral palsy, Down's
syndrome, and autism to stroke recovery and learning disabilities.
Home 4
the Holidays
In 1999 Helen Woodward Animal Center organized 14 animal shelters in
San Diego County, California for the first, "Home 4 the Holidays" pet
adoption drive. Our goals were to encourage families to save lives by
adopting their pets and to take business away from puppy mills and backyard
breeders while shelter pets died. That holiday season the participating
shelters found loving families for 2,563 orphaned pets.
In its first ten years Iams
Home 4 the Holidays has united 3,278,267 orphaned pets with their new
families!

detailed information on these programs, and much more, please visit Helen
Woodward Animal Center's
